Joining Clapton at New York’s Apollo Theatre on February 24th will be [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Jeff Beck[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Derek Trucks[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Keb Mo[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Doyle Bramhall[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Kenny Wayne Shepherd[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dr. John[/lastfm][lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Levon Helm[/lastfm] and many others.

Clapton, Levon and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Keith Richards[/lastfm] were among the artists who played on Sumlin’s last album, About Them Shoes, in 2006. Sumlin, who rose to fame as [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Howlin’ Wolf[/lastfm]‘s guitarist, appeared at all three of Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festivals.

Richards and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Mick Jagger[/lastfm] paid for Sumlin’s funeral. ~JZ.
