A PBS concert special chock full of hit-makers and history will be re-run during March…

Taped in 2003, Superstars of ’70s Soul features [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Patti LaBelle[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Kathy and Joni Sledge[/lastfm] of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]SISTER SLEDGE [/lastfm]and The ([lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lionel Richie[/lastfm]-less) [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Commodores[/lastfm] — as well as a pair of poignant performances. 

[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Chi-Lites[/lastfm] reunite for the final time on TV with original lead singer [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Eugene Record[/lastfm] (who passed away less than two years after the taping).

And [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]McFadden and Whitehead[/lastfm], both of whom have since died, bring back their Philly Soul classic “Ain’t No Stopping Us Now.”

Superstars of ’70s Soul will be seen as part of pledge drive programming beginning March 3rd on many public TV stations. ~JZ.
