Survey: Middle Age is Older Than You Think

When you’re 65… are you young, middle-aged or old?

According to a Marist Institute for Public Opinion poll: 55 percent of Americans say 65 is middle-aged.

One third of respondents consider 65 to be “old” while – and here’s my favorite part – 11 percent consider it to be “young.”

Under 45, it’s about 50/50 — half saying 65 is old vs. half saying middle-aged.

Under 30: 60% of those surveyed call 65 old.

I noticed when I was 15, 30 was terribly old.

Mark Twain: “Old age is 15 years older than you are.”

I’m all for 65 being middle aged but life expectancy is only 79, so…

How does that work? 😉
