Thanksgiving has passed, which means we are finally on the home stretch until Christmas.
While you take the time to put up the Christmas tree, or are in the kitchen fixing up a glorious feast you might want to have something playing in the background. Well what is better than a nice Christmas movie?
Peep this list and find out the 25 best holiday movies of the past 25 years!
Of course, to start the list is the Will Ferrell classic Elf. EW calls it the “perfect modern Christmas movie,” and it is “abounding with enough good-natured spirit that it’s impossible not to feel as sparklejollytwinklejingly as Buddy the Elf.”
As you go down the list, some of the classics make an appearance including Home Alone, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Santa Clause, How The Grinch Stole Christmas followed by some surprises including Batman Returns. The sequel to Batman takes place during the holiday season, which sets the basis for one its most memorable exchanges between Batman and Catwoman. He says, “Mistletoe can be deadly if you eat it,” and she replies, “But a kiss can be even deadlier if you mean it.”
Remember, this list is the best holiday films of the last 25 years, so if some of your old favorites do not make an appearance, it’s because they are..well, old.
