Samsung Will Shut Down All Remaining Galaxy Note 7s On December 19th

This year hasn’t been great for Samsung. The Galaxy Note 7 has been on recall for months since it is a ticking time bomb in your pocket. The company attempted to fix the problem and replace the phones before ultimately removing the phone from store shelves.

Now, if you’re a rebel and still carrying around your very dangerous Note 7, Samsung is getting ready to shut your phone down for good.

On December 19th, Samsung will release a software update that will kill your phone slowly. The update will effectively prevent your phone from recharging, rendering it useless.

Although most of the dysfunctional phones have been turned in, there are still around 130,000 of them floating around the U.S. If you are one of those people still holding on to your phone, you might want to invest in a new one before the 19th.
