Kyle Smith, a soldier in the United States Air Force, had to say goodbye to military partner Bodza – an 11-year-old German Shepherd Smith adopted in 2014. Sadly, Bodza had to be euthanized last week due to degenerative myelopathy.

When honors are rendered for the fallen of the United States military, an American flag is placed over the coffin. Arriving quickly after hearing that Smith’s longtime friend was being put down, his superior officer asked the veterinarian for a favor. And so, they found a flag for Bodza.
